Bird Blind Educational Panels
This panel is 1 of three identical panels. They were commissioned through a grant by
the El Dorado Audubon Society.  Each panel contains 13 separate species of birds
native to Camp Hi-Hill outdoor school, located in the Angeles Mountains.  The panels
are to be used as part of a bird blind so that students visiting the school can identify the
local wildlife.

This project required different materials due to the location and the drastic change in
climate temperatures. Originally panels of this type would be painted on marine grade
plywood but in order to prevent deterioration due to the elements PVC panels were used
as the base.  The PVC panels are light, durable and resist warping. Along with a
polyurethane coating as a protective seal, a wooden frame was made to attach the
panels to the bird blind.
